Well today was the day, I turned in all my gear and pager at Maryville Fire Dept and loaded up the Jeep and headed south. I am now with Mid County Fire Protection District in Camdenton MO. The station is amazing and the staff is top notch. I am currently bunking in a room with 3 other guys.. Not the best but it will work. We don't have any room for our stuff but they say that will change. Tomorrow at 0700 we all will get together to eat breakfast then into the training room at 0800 for orientation. After that I think we are heading to a neighboring Dept to get fitted with gear. Not sure what we will do after that but I know we will be going to our first Firefighter 1 class at around 1800. Very excited for that!
My nerves are killing me, I just quit my job moved 4 hrs away from anyone I know
Well time to hit the bunk while the snores and farts from the other guys whisk me to sleep.
